Care & tips for succes

Caring for your Calliope™ Hybrid Geranium is simple. Follow these easy steps and watch Calliope™ fill your patio containers and gardens with lasting, impressive color.
Step 1. Plant Calliope™ in a full sun or part shade location. For best results, place Calliope™ where it will receive a minimum of four hours of direct sun per day.
Step 2. Water when the topsoil is dry. Daily is best when summer heat is at its peak.
Step 3. For maximum flower production, feed periodically (every 7-14 days) with all-purpose plant food, and remove spent blooms.
Step 4. Enjoy!

The best home for your Calliope™ Hybrid Geranium

Calliope™ is a vigorous grower with a mounding to semi-trailing habit. Because of its strong growth habit, Calliope™ is ideal for hanging baskets and larger patio containers, and is excellent in garden beds as well.
Calliope™ has excellent heat tolerance in the landscape and does well in both full sun and partial shade. It should receive at least four hours of direct sunlight per day, otherwise flower production will be significantly reduced.

How to transplant

Transplant Calliope™ directly into a finished container or ground bed by placing the rooted media of the pot slightly below the level of media in the container or ground. Plant it into soil or media that is well drained.

Watering

Soil should be allowed to dry between watering; however, avoid severe drying out and wilting, as this will stress the plant and reduce flower production. Once established, Calliope™ is a hardy plant that is very drought resistant.

Plants Get Hungry, Too

Calliope™ is a moderate to heavy feeder. To maximize the size and amount of flowers, feed weekly with a soluble plant food.

Deadheading

Removing spent blooms encourages new growth and produces more flowers while reducing the chance of botrytis (a gray mold that damages new growth and weakens the plant). Simply pinch off spent blooms at the base of that bloom’s stem.
